The
centre, which is about 38km from Kuching city is part of the Kubah
National Park - Offers closer observation of the orang utans. One
also can observe 3 different types of jungle: the Alluvial and peat
swamp forest, Kerangas Forest, and the Mixed Dipterocarp Forest.
This centre was built on the concept of housing the animals in their
natural habitat, to rehabilitate the once captive orang utans to
return to the forest. Inside the animal’s enclosure, one can
observe fresh water crocodiles, sambar deer, wild cats, sun bears
and orang utans. The Birds and Hornbill Aviary is also located in
the same area.
