DAY 1

Sandakan/Selingan Island (Lunch/Dinner)

Meet at Sandakan airport or pick up at hotel in Sandakan. Proceed to the jetty to depart for Selingan Island (Turtle Island). Upon arrival, check in at the chalet, free to swim or snorkel. After dinner, follow the Park rangers to wait for turtles to come ashore to lay eggs. Overnight at simple lodge.

DAY 2

Selingan Island/Gomantong Caves/Sukau (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)

Early morning depart for Sandakan town & proceed to Gomantong caves.  These are limestone caves where edible bird's nests are collected for the famous Chinese delicacy, Bird's Nest Soup.  Gomantong caves are home to bats and birds.  Continue your journey to the village of Sukau, by the banks of the Kinabatangan river.  On arrival, check in at lodge.  In the evening, cruise along the Kinabatangan river in search of Proboscis monkeys & other wildlife.  Return to the lodge in the late evening.  Dinner & overnight at the lodge.

DAY 3
Sukau/Sepilok/Sandakan (Breakfast/Lunch)
Early morning breakfast & depart for Sandakan town. On arrival, proceed to the Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre. At prescribed time, witness the feeding of the young orang utans. Walk along the nature trail & enjoy the realm of the tropical lowland jungle. Perhaps visit the nature education centre to view the displays & exhibits.
Depart Sepilok Orang Utan Centre for lunch at local restaurant. After lunch, proceed for the Sandakan city tour. Visit the observation platform for a bird's eye view of Sandakan town. Stop at the Malay fishing village where the houses are built on stilts, visit the Chinese Buddhist temple which also offers a panoramic view of Sandakan town and last but not least, stop at the Australian War Memorial.
Transfer to the airport for flight out, or back to hotel in Sandakan.

Selingan Island

*The lodge is simple accommodation, twin sharing. Rooms with private wash room facilities are subject to availability. Sabah Parks allow only camera of unaided flash to take photographs of turtles. Video/Digital Video cameras are NOT ALLOWED. Visitors are not permitted to walk around the island on their own between 6:00 pm to 6:00 am.

*Bring Along: Light clothing, short pants, sandals, swimming attire, comfortable shoes, raincoat, personal toiletries, towel, light jacket, insect repellent & torch/flashlight.
