No special mountaineering skills are required - just physical fitness and determination.

DAY 1

KOTA KINABALU/ KINABALU PARK/LABAN RATA (Box Lunch/ Dinner)

Early morning pick up from Kota Kinabalu city hotel & depart for Kinabalu Park. Travel 2 hours overland (88 km) through padi-fields and Dusun villages over the ridges of the Crocker Range to the foothills of Mt. Kinabalu at 5,000 ft, to arrive at the park headquarters at Kundasang. Register at Park headquarter, then together with Mt. Guide, transfer to Timpohon Gate, the starting point to Mt Kinabalu. Start trekking up the mountain. Trekking will take about 6-7 hours. Upon reaching 11,000 ft, check into mountain Laban Rata.Resthouse for overnight stay.

DAY 2

DAY 2 LABAN RATA/KINABALU PARK/KOTA KINABALU (Breakfast/ Lunch)
Early rise at about 0200hr in the morning & start trek up to the summit. Trekking will take about 3-4 hours. Witness the glorious sunrise over the majestic Mt Kinabalu if weather permits. Descend to Laban Rata for breakfast before descending  to Timpohon Gate. 

Transfer back to Park headquarter for lunch and to collect Certificate of Achievement.
After lunch, depart back to Kota Kinabalu.

NOTE

* Minimum - 2 persons (If 1 persons, a surcharge of 50% applies)

*Mt. Climb Permit for Malaysians - Additional RM 30 per person at site.

*Mt. Climb Permit for Non-Malaysians - Additional RM 100 per person at site.

*Mt. Guide for climbing mountain only.

*Mountain Hut accommodation at Laban Rata is with heating and on bunk-bed sharing basis, whereas at other huts will be without heater (sleeping bag basis) .

*Bring Along: personal toiletries, hat, good walking/ trekking shoes, windbreaker and warm clothing, towel, torchlight, waterproof gloves, raincoat, water bottle, headache tablet and 'panadol' for altitude sickness

Why not incorporate a visit to Poring Hot Springs while you are at Kinabalu National Park. There you can take a dip in one of the open air springs developed by the Japanese during the second world war.  Ease away those aches and pains.

After lunch, depart for Poring Hot Spring. Upon arrival, take a dip in the hot spring pool which most people believed to possess medicinal effect. Option to trek to the Poring Canopy Walkway (if time permits) to experience life & sights from above tree tops.
